Cotswold Farmers Markets
The Cotswolds is most definitely the place to be to find and taste local produce that is organic, welfare-friendly, fresh, high quality food and drink. Some of the best places to eat outside the main cities are right here in village pubs, cafes and restaurants, and if staying with Cotswold Village Rooms your food and ingredients are likely to be found here.
As well as general markets selling all manner of things, Farmers Markets are held either weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or quarterly across the area. It’s where local food producers and enterprising traders sell their homemade baked goods, preserves, home grown fruits, cheeses, vegetables, plants and crafts, and are well-worth a visit to sample and stock up on produce not seen elsewhere.
Please note that it is always wise to double check the days, times and venues where the markets take place – we do our very best to make sure things are accurate but sometimes we may get it wrong! Do let us know if we have led you astray.
Usually a village or market town has a website with details about its markets and what’s on, or visit the official tourism website at www.cotswolds.com It’s a good idea to aim to get there early as the markets tend to finish around mid-day or early afternoon, and don’t forget to take a basket or bags with you for all your lovely, local produce.
